Life in the UK — Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-25
Use of our companion website (currently served at https://www.lifeintheuktestguide.co.uk). The Life in the UK iOS and Android apps each have their own terms set out in the App Store and Google Play listings.
Acceptance of these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may change these terms from time to time — see "Changes to these terms" at the bottom of this page.
What this site is — and what it is not
Life in the UK is an independent study aid for the official Life in the United Kingdom citizenship test. We are not produced by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the UK Home Office, HM Government, or any official UK testing centre.
The practice questions on this site are written by us from the published official syllabus of the Life in the UK citizenship test. They are not the real test questions. Passing our practice tests does not guarantee that you will pass the official test. Always rely on the official Life in the UK test study material as the authoritative source.
What it costs you
The website is free to use. There is no account, no signup, no subscription, no purchase, and no required login. We do not currently show advertising. If we add ads in the future, they will be clearly disclosed in this section.
Content and intellectual property
The website source code is open source under the MIT licence — see the LICENSE file in our GitHub repository.
The practice questions, study guide text, design, and other original content on this site are the copyright of Muralidharan Kathiresan, all rights reserved. You may use the site freely for personal study. You may not scrape, mirror, republish, resell, or train AI models on the content without our written permission.
The underlying UK citizenship test syllabus is Crown copyright. We respect that copyright and do not reproduce the official study material verbatim.
Acceptable use
Please use the site for personal study only. Do not attempt to attack, overload, scrape automatedly, reverse-engineer for redistribution, or otherwise interfere with the site or its users. There is no user-generated content area on the site, so we do not host comments or uploads from you.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the content is complete, accurate, or up to date with the latest official syllabus, that the site will be available without interruption, or that it will be free of errors or defects. Your use of the site is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Muralidharan Kathiresan is not liable for any loss or damage arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this site — including any loss of progress data stored in your browser, any incorrect answer in our practice questions, or any test result you receive from a real testing centre. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by UK law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a short period after they go live.
